Friedrich Kunath
Painter
Born in East Germany and now based in Los Angeles, Friedrich Kunath creates large-scale landscape paintings that weave together German Romanticism, American pop culture, and poetic phrases into cinematic, emotionally charged canvases. Hebru Brantley
Painter & Afrofuturist
Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, Hebru Brantley grew up tagging trains before developing his signature Afrofuturist style — bold, comic book-influenced paintings and sculptures that explore nostalgia, power, and hope. His work has been collected by LeBron James, Beyoncé, and George Lucas. Now based in Los Angeles, Brantley is expanding his iconic Flyboy universe into film and media.
Nina Chanel Abney
Painter
Nina Chanel Abney announced herself to the art world with a single painting — her MFA thesis at Parsons, which depicted her white classmates as Black inmates and herself as the prison guard. That work was purchased immediately by the Rubell family and toured the country. Her bold, large-scale pop-surrealist canvases have since sold for nearly $1 million at Christie's, and her work is held in the Brooklyn Museum, the Whitney, and the Rubell Museum.
